Jim Tobin
Partner/Manager Raleigh-Durham Office

Jim can take the words right out of your mouth and put better ones in. Or take complex business problems and turn them into a comprehensible, cohesive marketing strategy. He's adept at translating jargon-laced language into marketing messages a target audience can get.

He started doing that for Brogan & Partners' healthcare clients in the Midwest. For the last several years, he's been doing the same with an attractive Southern drawl. Jim heads up our office in North Carolina's Research Triangle. Jim's headed the work for Quintiles, NC Dept of Health and Human Services, NC Health and Wellness Trust Fund and PgxHealth.

Before joining Brogan, Jim served as senior vice president and primary media spokesperson for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation.

Prior to moving to Michigan from Washington, D.C., Jim was director of the political action committee of the National Association of Life Underwriters (NALU). Before that, Jim served as the associate director of communications and member services for the Association of Health Insurance Agents (AHIA). More fun than it sounds. Really.

Jim has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Duke University, and a Masters in Public Communication from The American University. He also attended the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business for Strategic Marketing Management.

He's past-president of the Triangle American Marketing Association, on the public relations committee for Make-A-Wish of Eastern North Carolina and on the development committee for the National Veterans Freedom Park.

In his free time, Jim likes to pour time and money into his home in Raleigh where he lives with his wife, Kathy, and three young daughters.

He knows the words to an impressive number of theme songs heard on inane children's television shows.
