Maria owns her own power tools and knows how to use them with some level of expertise. Which means when new furniture is delivered in pieces, she’s able to uncrate and bolt it all together without muss or fuss. Her driving attitude is: Whatever it takes!
While COO, she gracefully managed the administration of the agency which has been recognized as a high-performance workplace by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Best Practices Clearinghouse, was awarded the Detroit Women’s Economic Club’s Workplace of Tomorrow award, named twice as one of the 10 Best Places to Work in Michigan by Crain’s Detroit Business, two-time winner of the National Sloan Award for Workplace Flexibility and Elite winner of the 101 Best Workplaces in Michigan.
She’s made it possible for us to maintain a highly productive, diverse, equal opportunity workplace with impeccable standards. Equally considerate of clients and vendors–she cheerfully works out agreeable financial arrangements so that how a client is billed and so that how we are paid is most comfortable for their systems.
Maria graduated from Michigan’s Oakland University and attended the Center for Creative Studies. (Both sides of Maria’s brain works. She’s a talented fine artist. And she’s savvy about numbers, business, real estate and more.)
Maria lives in Birmingham with serial cats named Merle. She enjoys gardening, is a published cartoonist, accomplished woodcarver and enthusiastic, award-winning painter.
