Jim can take the words right out of your mouth and put
better ones in. Or take complex business problems and
turn them into a comprehensible, cohesive marketing strategy.
He's adept at translating jargon-laced language into marketing
messages a target audience
can get.
He started doing that for Brogan & Partners' clients in the Midwest. For the last several years, he's been doing the same with an attractive Southern drawl. Jim heads up our office in North Carolina's Research Triangle.
Before joining Brogan, Jim served as senior vice president and primary media spokesperson for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Through Jim's marketing campaigns, Michigan gained increased recognition as an attractive place to do business.
Prior to moving to Michigan from Washington, D.C., Jim was director of the political action committee of the National Association of Life Underwriters (NALU). Before that, Jim served as the associate director of communications and member services for the Association of Health Insurance Agents (AHIA). More fun than it sounds. Really.
Jim has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Duke University, and an MFA in Public Communication from The American University. He also attended the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business for Strategic Marketing Management.
He's president-elect of the Triangle American Marketing Association, on the public relations committee for Make-A-Wish of Eastern North Carolina, the Board of Directors of Veterans Freedom Park.
In his free time, Jim likes to pour time and money into his new home in Raleigh where he lives with his wife, Kathy, and three young daughters.
He knows the words to an impressive number of theme songs
heard on inane children's television shows.
Jim's blog, Life Is Marketing, reflects his fascination with and unique take on the rapidly changing world of marketing.
